This chasm runs though a good chunk of the southern half of the map. I haven't yet found a GCS here ... given that all of the dead critters in later years are from natural deaths, I'm guessing there isn't one. A shame.
As later maps demonstrate, however, there is a (seemingly) limitless supply of cave spiders, which (more than) support my silk industry quite easily despite zealous pruning by the cat population.
This view is centered over where the embark map indicates there should be a cave river. In theory, at least, there's a magma pipe under the patch of exposed sand in the top right, and HFS just left of the "tributary" section of the chasm. The wagon is visible along the top edge, a fourth of the way over from the left edge. -
