The thought and effort on display here is amazing. I stared in awe at the colourful, circular constructions. I let out a gasp when I saw your two-floor enbalconied bedrooms. I had shed a single tear when I witnessed the slow, deliberate crawl of the spiral tower through all of its z-level-spanning glory.

Stunning and unforgettable.

It is a magma pipe that I found and built the fortress around.

Great fort! I like your noble quarters and jail particularly (the jails are more luxurious than the bedrooms!), and your catacombs are huge! How many of the coffins are occupied? =P

The placement of your waterfall is very good, your dwarves must be very happy.

sneakypete--I am going to try to melt some more ice and see if that helps at all. I didn't re-upload the map, does it seem that way? =P

Drone--I am afraid that might be the problem. If it is, I would probably have to drain the cisterns, remove the floor hatches, melt more ice, and refill the cisterns to make it work.

Markavian--I knew that it was possible, but I couldn't figure it out, and it seemed easier just to link to the last map. =P I just noticed the checkbox that makes POI sharing work, so I set it up properly.

Building bedrooms with windows facing into the chasm is a fantastic idea!

Judging by the 3dwarf image, its sort of a rounded pyramid within a hollow rounded pyramid. =)
Looks like it was a lot of work. Keeping the outer walls roundish must have been challenging!

Yes the bridges are still there (retracted at the moment). I had thought that retracting the bridges would be enough to collapse the floors, but apparently not. I would have preferred simply using deconstruction or channeling to collapse the floors instead, but the dwarves tend to get themselves stuck in dangerous positions when I try that. =)

I love that you are making your ice instead of strip mining the mountain of ice beneath you. =) Fort feels very compact and frugal.
Looking forward to the next update!

hehe what sort of terrible fate awaited this fortress? =)
I think your fort is very charming, especially the bedrooms near the magma pipe.

I find the hollowed-out hill very attractive. It has a strange, bunkerish flee about it.

I like that you have flattened the side of this hill. Feels like the old-DF cliff a bit, making me a bit nostalgic. =)

Wall is great. I like how you mixed the stones you used, makes it look more authentic and interesting.
