If you read some of my previous POI's you would know that the surface is connected to the caverns by the kobold cave. This forgotten beast, in the form of a large deer with external ribs who shot poisonous gases, arrived sometime last spring. Sadly, the deer's arrival corresponded with a migrant wave. I recruited all of those poor dwarfs to have a last stand, and somehow one dwarf managed to land a lucky punch and knock the creature out. That dwarf, slowly succumbing to the gas-induced fever, wrestled with the unconscious beast for a whole month before it finally died. That dwarf promptly passed as well. I have yet to bury any of these corpses because of various sieges. - Salmeuk
