It appears he mined all of the adamantine out. The cyan rock you're seeing is microcline.

I would love to see this in 3Dwarf.

Aye. I've got to include a few of those things in bloodlines.

Thanks, but it was just a temporary marker for when I was doing the designations. If I had a much huger hall (read: if I had space) I would probably do an ornate roman numeral style floor labeling system.

The latter is impossible, as of right now.

Also, note that the alphanumeric part is the same as in curses_16x16.bmp, and thus really ugly.

Have you got temperature turned off? Magma does no harm with it off.

I use hide.exe for the revealed map squares problem.

Also, I said "tileset" not "object tileset."

Agreed. I have a smallish fortress running along at a nice 140FPS, then a dog decides that it wants to go through a non-pet-passable door. The speed is literally halved.

Yes, but it can destroy precious materials.

He uses the tileset that comes with the DeepQuantas pack on the wiki. See the object tilesets page.
Note that it is an especially ugly tileset in regards to the text and anything that isn't visible on the main map.

He uses granite.exe and hide.exe. He mines out the ore/gems in the walls, waits till the haulers haul the ore/gems away (critical step), uses granite.exe on those wall tiles, and hide.exe's the tiles that shouldn't be visible.

Ah, so that's why I recognize those walls!

Would you post the tileset to the wiki? I dislike the FPS reduction that occurs with large tilesets, and haven't been able to make a good, small tileset yet.

Probably, the dwarf went in there while he was not watching, the tower-cap grew while he was not watching, and the dwarf died while he was not watching.
