That's the highest level of the pumps, and they're entirely magma-safe, so I didn't see any issue with having a little overflow into the nearby passages.

Is there a reason why a bunch of the pumps on Z=115 aren't properly sealed?

Being that dwarf would've been such a thrill.. Standing atop a physically impossible tower, to be dropped hundreds of feet into a small tube filled with water! Then seeing a door and poening it, the water flooding out of the door, pushing you to the ground. Your adamantine armour deflecting the it. You stand up and look around. And be comforted by the lovely waterfall!

Looks like your limestone was tasked for hauling/construction/etc. When you examined the stones themselves, there was no stockpile designated under them. If you have other stone stockpiles in the fortress, they may have already claimed them. Or you may have accidentally designated them for use in another construction elsewhere.

For whatever reason the game crashed during this and a few other clashes between this group of goblins and a random titan.

I saved the game not long after this and didn't play for a couple days. When I loaded it back up the cats died as soon as I unpaused.

He has a pressure tower that pumps the magma up, then pushes it down into the upwelling pipes; it's the white structure at 0:16 and 1:18.

As long as you have a good hallway to keep the enemy numbers contained and you don't meet them out in the open, you should have not problem with your military.

That is fantastic! So a pump multiple z levels below the outlet will pressurize the magma enough to spout out? Or do you have the pumps actually oriented at z-levels above this, then piped down and back up like a U? Does that make the magma come out up to the same z-level as the pumps?

Yep. I'm currently only using those notes to mark which lever/pressure plate is connected to what, so for me, the symbol of the note is really the only thing that matters. If I feel like setting up patrol points, I'll name then, but for indicating a linkage I'll just stick to symbols. They're easier to interpret at a glance.
