Now I wanna make a pool for my dwarves. At least something to give them some swimming skill for the hell of it.

3/7 depth to count towards the skill, right?

Speaking of which, I think that can explain the "waves". About half of it is 3/7 and the other half is 4/7, and that extra 1/7 is shifting all over the place. You just got lucky enough for it to retain a wave shape.

I can imagine how that would look IRL.

Beauty. It works!

I see someone decided to test if my idea would work.

Well, the concept works, but seeing as you have quite a few extra slots to fill as well, you can really make some sort of elaborate pattern-cycle.

It would be costly, but so darn worth it. This can get interesting, provided enough creativity. >:)

Good work!

Now, can other instruments be involved? Like drawbridges, floodgates, and whatnot? Consider that a megaproject idea, the "Nightmare Factory Gauntlet", or the "Indiana Urist and the True Temple of Doom".

I believe this is the end result of putting buttered toast on 187 cats and fixing them in place around a wagon. Of course, so much simultaneous purring knocked the magnetic force out of line and sent the furry reactor critical.

Now, let's see what we can do making a cat-based hadron collider.

I wanna try this, but I also want to take it to the next level.

I want to make an airship instead. Using windmills and "waterwheels" as the props that hold the ship in the sky, and it would also allow for the crew to jury-rig extra machinery to function as well if necessary.

I'd like to see what can be done with that idea.

EDIT:
Here's what i have so far.
