Fortress: Rhymedmansion mounf

Main Entrance: upper dome

The upper level of the double helix ramp to the caverns. This forms the base of a dome. The main entryway enters the dome from the south.

Main entrance: cavern layer

The base of the main entrance has been designed. The large circular room contains the base of a double helix ramp leading up to the main entrance corridor. Surrounding this are the military barracks, 5 for melea dwarfs on this level, a further 4 for crossbows on the level above.

Hall of memory

Hall containing the history of the fort, each 9x2 block of engraved stone comemorates one season of the fort, starting in 256. 4 of the Blocks are engraved per year. I also plan to place tombs off this room, entrances being positioned by the appropriate years engravings.

Masons crafthall

Main floor of the masons crafthall, space for 4 workshops, with stone stockpiles (one for magma safe, one for other) on the floor below.

Magma forges

Forges and smelters south of the main access stair, glass furnaces and kilns to the north. Supply of raw materials could use streamlining. Time to investigate mine carts!

Hospital

Small, temporary hospital, thankfully has only seen limited use so far!

256- For now, this is also the location of the training squad barracks.

Cavern 1

The upper cavern, now sectioned off to form the hub of the fort.

Living quarters

A room for every dwarf/couple.

Spread over multiple levels, a simple 2x2 room for every dwarf in the fortress. Living quarters will eventually be moved to the cavern levels.

Dining Room

The newer dining room. The entire dining room will eventually be in the caverns. However, a nice place to eat is important for morale, so this temporary space is being built.

Temporary corridor - Lower

The lower level of the temporary fort main corridor.

Temporary corridor - Mid

The middle level of the main corridor of the temporary fort. Food prep and production is south-east, North and South are the smithy and glass workshop.

256 - The smithy has been moved to the magma forges.

Temporary main corridor - Upper

The upper catwalk of the main corridor of the temporary fort. Temporary workspaces branch of the corridoor North and South.

To the east is the main stockpile.

To the Northeast is the millitary barracks and stores.

Zays Animal traps

At the request of Zay, our resident animal trainer a number of traps have been installed in the desert. To increase theie effectiveness they are placed at artificialy created choke points.

They also may act as an early warning system for ambushes if we are lucky.

Outer compound.

The outer compound is designed offer limited protection to our warriors by channeling invaders if we are attacked.

Our seven intrepid dwarfs and assorted pets admiring the view. To the north, The Disgusting Steps. To the south, The Infamous Dunes.
