Fortress: Grindbroken Sorg

Zekrim

Zekrim was a forgotten beast made of solid salt. This guy somehow managed to bypass all the bridges (teleportation?) and made it inside my fortress. He was dispatched very quickly by some swordsdwarf.

Fortress: Smokeclasped RedWick

Zealscar entrance

The entrance to the kobold cave, Zealscar. Off on the bottom right, you can see the kobold Grayngis. He started off unconscious and wounded for some reason. It's pretty interesting to see the difference between my fort layout and the cave layout.

Zays Animal traps

At the request of Zay, our resident animal trainer a number of traps have been installed in the desert. To increase theie effectiveness they are placed at artificialy created choke points.

They also may act as an early warning system for ambushes if we are lucky.

Fortress: Crystalcastle-13-Zas Haika The Lord Of Glass

The first of hopefully many glass constructions. And the main base of the fortress. Most of the future construction will be built above.

Z-levels

This steep slope off to the side goes up quite a ways before it peters off, meaning that I have a lot of z-levels to work with (I think 50 total). I may do some sort of tower, or perhaps some sort of super-high entrance-bridge / deathtrap.

Z-Level 3 of Main Hub

This area has the main Stone stockpile. All other Stone stockpiles are set to give their stones to this stockpile. As such, this will almost never be empty. The other stone stockpiles are a few z-levels below and are rather massive.

To the right are 3 Mason Workshops, 2 Mechanic Workshops, and 6 Craftsdwarves Workshops. I made so many Craftsdwarves Workshops due to my impatience of getting the Raw Adamantine extracted into Adamantine Strands. This happened in 131.

Z-Layer 2 of Main Hub

This area contains 3 Craftdwarves Workshops, 2 Jewelers Workshops, and 3 Carpenter Workshops. To the top and bottom are massive wood stockpiles. I filled them to capacity just because I was trying my best to tick off the Elves. To the left is a stockpile for Gems. To the right is a Bones stockpile.

Z-9 to Z-41: Central Axel

This wooden axel connects the cavern reactor to the millstone axels and gear assemblies, going down 32 floors in the process.

Z-8: Mechanical Access

Plans for an obsidian casting facility somewhere in this area are being considered for implementation in the next decade. Otherwise, this is the place where power from the cavern reactors beneath is distributed to the pump stack and millstones.

Z-6: Food Production Floor

Expanded storage capacity to the Eastern food vault. Only the South-Eastern Vault remains empty.
2 new kitchens and 2 new farmer's workshops occupy the processing room, with 2 millstones and 1 screw press nearby for the relevant jobs.

Z-5: Housing and Hospital

24 new rooms were added to the external portions of the Northern, Eastern and Western quadrants. The Southern quadrant is not expanded, due to the hospital.

The first-ever patient of the new hospital suffered from a wound to his right-leg. He healed up in a month and uses crutches.

Z-44: Cavern Reactor Pressure Control

The bluer portions of the water flow is where the water covers bridges, linked to a room in Food Processing where all the assemblies and bridges in the power plant are controlled.
All 3 reactors can be shut down with the flipping of 6 levers, should such drastic action be necessitated.
