• 168. Founders Tombs

  I feel like I'm really starting off on the right foot with this map. I have bedrooms for every dwarf and even managed to complete (mostly) my Founders tombs before any of them died.

  Here is the hospital grand staircase. I did ramp carving on this instead of staircase digging because it's safer. You don't get dwarfs hit by falling stones and falling 20 or 30 z-levels to their deaths. I wasn't so lucky with the hallway... - Unbeltedsundew

  ( 98 Early Winter to onwards )
  I kept running into the bug where dwarfs stood on their building tile for this. Solved thanks to some guy on the bug reports saying he'd built grates above them to get it to work, and it did. Anyways for the outer wall I'm envisioning one of those short Japanese walls they had around their Samuri residences. So the slate there is going to be topped here by some sort of clayish material, or maybe gypsum and then topped by glazed clay block ramps if you can do that.
  
  I worry what's gonna happen when I turn invasions back on and creatures and building breakers get over the wall, but I don't want to roof it, it seems too cheap to me (says the guy playing without invasions or artifacts ATM). - Unbeltedsundew

• Δ 117. Trade Caravan
  My lifeblood in the earlier years I've been largely ignoring them for a while now except to occasionally grab all their anvils for metal and cloth and silk for clothes (after the near catastrophe with the tantrum spiral (which actually did end up killing almost all 45 of my dwarfs I had at that point. Yay Save-scuming!)).
  
  Now my stocks are good, thousands of all the essentials like lavish meals, barrels, booze and liquor. - Unbeltedsundew
• 111. Hospital Complex

  ( 90 Late Summer to onwards )
  Going to be 50 rooms here for ailing dwarfs. Hospitals are a growth industry and my dwarfs intend to be the premier healthcare provider for Dwarfdom and Anyotherdom that could dare try and compete. Each room will contain featherwood beds, silver operating tables, silver traction benches, silver cabinets. And ensure optimal water provision with an equal number of all silver constructed wells. The private rooms at the top contain this well in the room itself. All very state of the art stuff. In addition the rooms will have magma heating and light and at the reception level there will be a very nice garden for the patients to convalesce in, or optionally there will be a private outdoor garden on top where those who are insane enough can brave the sun and birds and snow. - Unbeltedsundew

• Δ 96. Future Site of the Baths
  I'm going to have the road swing out over the chasm here so it will be suspended in the air and the entrance will be to the north side. Not sure whether to carve it up or down but I'm leaning towards down even though it will be harder, it will fit what I have in mind better. - Unbeltedsundew
• Δ 94. F-ing Elkbirds
  I ended up walling off the caverns all over because the g'damn Elkbirds were constantly infiltrating the fort and causing havoc and killing the occasional baby or toddler. All that blood every where is from one of their Elkbird predecessors. - Unbeltedsundew
• 100. Future Farms

  ( 87 Early Spring to onwards )
  The intent here is to use all these round column rooms for farms, both out door and subterranean. In the mean time I temporarily have shoved the fort in them while I construct the basics of the rest. - Unbeltedsundew

• 100. The Bedroom Complex

  ( 87 Early Spring to onwards )
  The start of my bed room complex, there are going to be 5 levels of 21 bedrooms each giving me space for a 100 regular dwarfs. I'm going to carve out the middle here and give em all balconies and windows and put the Nobel rooms and important dwarfs in elevated dwarf pods. There will be plumbing (fresh water and waste water), and magma heat and light for all the rooms. - Unbeltedsundew
