I love this setting. I haven't played in a bit, but really think I should take advantage of it. I would have liked to start down at the water, but I think I would drown (Another similar place that happened to me twice).

Pretty nice, you're going to want to widen out the corridors otherwise you are going to have very crowded dwarves later on. I expect to see more soon
Edit: Also you might want to think about some POI, starting out staring at blank space is no fun.
