Progress continues. The economy is shifting from one oriented around 60-80 dwarves to one oriented around 150+ dwarves. Once the economy stabilizes, the military can kick into high gear and hopefully take on the adamantine.
I added two guard towers and expanded the drawbridges at the front of the fortress. I also began work on the steel road that will eventually lead to the map edge. - chuzzum

Not only do I like the layout of both the fortress proper and the temporary fortress, it gives me an idea. All that empty space in the entrance cave? Imagine that a pit. There would be an underground tower that leads to the fortress proper in the bedrock.
I must try this. Now.
