Year 1 of Construction
This year we received a single immigrant, a Leatherworker. Unfortunately/fortunately I don't like losing dwarves if I can help it so he gets to stay. I don't think any more immigrants are likely to arrive though.
We have finished the basic defensive wall though. This is essential for the cultivation of feather trees, which I am fond of. However I insist all permanent constructions be built out of blocks.
With only 8 dwarves, efficiency in everything is key. The dwarves first haul the freshly produced blocks to a nearby stockpile where they are binned. The bins can then be transferred to the construction site, saving valuable labour as each bin is 10 blocks.
Number of blocks: 307
The Challenge: Construct a mega fortress without immigrants!
Our dwarves spent the last year carving out the foundation of the planned tower. We also converted it all to blocks. Hopefully the rate will increase as the dwarves improve their skills... - Jong89
