Inkrims - 223 Mid Summer by lordsigmund

Map Description:

My first "successful" fortress. Currently building myself a room for ballistas to fire out my entrance, and possibly a roof for my keep outside.

Started my fortress in the side of a small valley and built the keep up around it.

Point of Interest: Entrance/Keep base

This is where I started, now has the ground floor of the keep, with moat either side, room for the ballistas on the right hand side and barracks/training rooms on the left hand side.

You can just see the upper floor of my accomodation block on the right as well.

The keep goes up 4 Z-Levels above this with fortifications at the top that my marksdwarves patrol. - lordsigmund

Bottom floor of my 2 level (so far) accomodation block. Room for 96 so far, 48 on either floor with my Mayor's rooms on the right hand side. There is room above for another noble to, but my first Dungeon Master died at the hands of goblins on his way to my fortress when he migrated here. - lordsigmund

Plump helmet farm for the dining floor below, my dwarves eat and drink these things all year round, not got round to sorting crop rotation yet. - lordsigmund

Mined into the river to the far southwest to fill up my moat and a room a few Z levels down to act as a supply for the well in my dining hall.
Also visible is the ammo stockpile underneath my barracks archery range. - lordsigmund

Haven't got the hang or the patience for a dwarven atom smasher yet, so carved an ever expanding room out of the sand on my top level to store my non-metal ore rocks. - lordsigmund

Trade depot with levels for things on the left.

All I've been trading is clothes and armor left behind after killing invading goblins lol. It was worth so much that I managed to buy out everything the elven traders brought last time :) - lordsigmund

I want to do something with this waterfall but I've no Idea what. Anyone know if I mine out to the waterfall a few z levels down from the top if any water will come in, or I can just have a view through the falling water? - lordsigmund

Large dining hall, featuring walls covered with statues and caged animals, large food storage room in at the bottom, and kitchens, still, fish prep room and meal storage rooms at the sides of the hall. - lordsigmund

Here is where I have all my workshops, with a stockpile for metal ore stones at the top next to my smelters. The top workshops have staircases down to stockpiles for their crafts below them. - lordsigmund

Currently running massively low on wood and charcoal, but got lots of Iron and Pig Iron bars ready to be made into steel when i get more charcoal. Loads of Gems too. - lordsigmund
Δ 13. Graveyard and well room

Not worked graveyards out yet, originally just had the room with coffins in that I designated as a tomb using the coffins, but dwarves never seemed to be moved down there, so made it a graveyard stockpile instead. 5 fresh corpses because i just had 2 back-to-back goblin ambushes :( Killed my hunter and fisherdwarves.

At the top is the room I flooded with the river to feed the well in the dining hall above. - lordsigmund
Δ Exploratory mining

Mined out a load of the bottom z-level of my map to try and look for lava. found a load of gems, random metal ores and rocks instead. - lordsigmund
