Fairly successful fortress with a max population of 30(currently 36). There's been a couple of tragedies. Some goblins broke through my defenses. My dwarves were fine because they were all inside but there were some elves at my trade depot and they all got massacred. My sheriff was also killed while trying to dump a captured goblin into my jaguar pit.
I came across a decent amount of aluminum early on. I didn't realize how expensive that stuff was until I looked it up. Haven't found much since. Plenty of copper, though.
Instead of fussing around with trying to make a bedroom for every single dwarf I just created a large barracks and separate rooms for the founders. Any dwarf who proves himself in some fashion gets a name and a room as events occur.

You make the graphics mod actually look better than it is. I think this shows some artistic inclination, which is far gone from dfma in general. There are few fortresses that look pretty.

Yeah, a lot of people seem to be more focused making their fortress as functional as possible, engraving everything and giving everyone 1x3 rooms. That's fine, I guess, but they're not very fun to look at.
