This is the arena. Note the guy standing in the middle, prepared to "test" it.

The left and right top corners are for marksmen; if things get out of hand, the floodgates can be opened to allow them to fire out. In addition, they contain the controls for opening each combatant's cages and allowing them to roam the arena. Above the arena is a lever which locks down the door by putting up some iron bars; they're currently up to stop goblins from walking out of/picking the lock on the door. (They also look cool.) - Midna
