Gearcraft - 1054 Mid Spring by Markavian

Map Description:

Spring of the new year. An outer wall surrounds the river plain, and metalcrafting has sprung into full force after traders brought two anvils. A row of smelters pumps out coke and metal bars from the mountain's edge.

Elsewhere, the farms have been re-muddied and replanted for a second year of growing. A bridged entrance overlooks the north of the map and an open dome is being contructed over a metal statue signifying the hard work of the dwarves' first year.

Hope this does better then Stormcraft. :p

When you strike a cavern, what are you going to do with it?

When I hit the caverns... I'm going to trap the hell of it it (cages, spinning blades), and send in heavily armoured recruits on patrols...

I'll set up a new perimeter, and then dig downwards, down further this time...

Also, If you strike HFS, it doesn't matter if you block them or not, they will RUIN your FPS.

I was looking at "The Staircase", and it came to me: Cage Traps!!!

I was so used to ignoring them as "making the game too easy" in 40d, that I completely forgot about this alternative in protecting the route into the underworld now that my military is not so godly anymore.

You can download the compressed map file: 2010-04/markavian-Gearcraft-orid tadin-1054-3541.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
