Entry for suspended throne room competition mentioned here: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=58221.0
The main gimmick for this fort is that the castle it features is entirely subterranean. The walls dug from solid rock. Most of the stone was disposed of with atom smashers. The reason for creating this fort was so I could have a castle and still have my dwarves clean it (31.03/04 cleaning bug prevents surface castle cleaning).
This fort was created using an unmodded 31.03 and 31.04. It took 39 years to get to this point.

Suspended throne room for forum challenge.
The throne room is made of gold and black bronze, and is accessible via bridge. In this export, the magma sea is in the process of refilling - it will submerge the throne room when done.

This is seriously epic. I hope there was invasions and forgotten beasts and all sorts of disasters. You can't have gone 39 years without some good fun.
BTW, the dwarf mural made me smile.
