Keskal- Scratchwheels - 1052 Mid Summer by Jetsetlemming

Map Description:

A one dwarf fortress, inspired by http://www.bay12games.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=11&t=000325
I'm amazed at how much work can be done, and how quickly, by a lone dwarf. Unlike the tales of Urist, I had no qualms about bringing items and skills, though I decided against bringing an ax, opting for nothing but food, alcohol, and skills (and kitty :D).
I killed off the other 6 dwarves by just setting them to hunt. My area was filled with cougars, and they made quick work of a few, but two of my sacrificial dwarves proved quite adept at bare handed cougar hunting, and while they didn't manage to survive past late spring, they do seem to have cleared out the map of all cougars, leaving only foxes and deer.

Eh Hosus, that's not a cat, that's a fricking mountain lion! O.o

Hey Jetsetlemming, try adding [ link=http://someurl]link text[/link] or [ img=http://someurl]img text[/img] in your post to make it easier to view those screenshots. Good detail by the way, and good luck with your next fort.

I'll edit the posts with images (I think I made one other besides this one) with that, thanks. I fully intend to reclaim this one, if for nothing more than to give Hosus a proper burial and kill the last demons.

Well. I tried to upload the next map, but it says that is about 4 KB over a maximum map size. O_o;
I've cleaned up the fortress, killing all the monsters around, including 2 demons (there was a total of 8, then), and set all my dwarves back to civilians and am trying to get them to clean up. They don't really seem to want to pick up mining picks or axes, oddly enough. Ah well....
I'm a firm believer in the few rather than the many thanks to Hosus.

How big is the map you tried to upload Jetsetlemming? Can you check the the bitmap, is it corrupted anywhere? Did you receive a warning from the map compressor about there being too many tiles?

Viewer Controls

g

SHIFT + Key doubles keyboard scroll rate.

Problems?

Do you only see a blank space?

Don't have Flash?
You can download the compressed map file: Keskal.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
