Keskal- Scratchwheels - 1053 Early Autumn by Jetsetlemming

Map Description:

This year is just flying by. Started digging out the big room by the magma river now; this is all Hosus managed to do between one nap and the next. I'm gonna have to make another fairly large room behind it to stick all those random rocks in, as intend to make the western half of it stockpiles exclusively for coal, iron, limestone, and copper, then build a new metalsmith shop and smelter in the center, working towards steel and finally building magma related buildings along the riverbank.
Gonna tunnel out a small bedroom and food stockpile with it, and stick a dining table in his room. Temporary quarters until the grand palace is ready, of course.

I've also got the chasm flooding tunnel almost ready. I should be OK to start dumping magma in it soon. Stone floodgates work with magma, right?

Eh Hosus, that's not a cat, that's a fricking mountain lion! O.o

Hey Jetsetlemming, try adding [ link=http://someurl]link text[/link] or [ img=http://someurl]img text[/img] in your post to make it easier to view those screenshots. Good detail by the way, and good luck with your next fort.

I'll edit the posts with images (I think I made one other besides this one) with that, thanks. I fully intend to reclaim this one, if for nothing more than to give Hosus a proper burial and kill the last demons.

Well. I tried to upload the next map, but it says that is about 4 KB over a maximum map size. O_o;
I've cleaned up the fortress, killing all the monsters around, including 2 demons (there was a total of 8, then), and set all my dwarves back to civilians and am trying to get them to clean up. They don't really seem to want to pick up mining picks or axes, oddly enough. Ah well....
I'm a firm believer in the few rather than the many thanks to Hosus.

How big is the map you tried to upload Jetsetlemming? Can you check the the bitmap, is it corrupted anywhere? Did you receive a warning from the map compressor about there being too many tiles?

g

SHIFT + Key doubles keyboard scroll rate.

Problems?

Do you only see a blank space?

Don't have Flash?
You can download the compressed map file: local_map-16-1053-21147.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
