Olin Citymartyred's Dwarf Fortress Lovedship
Being live-blogged at www.twitter.com/DwarfBob
As a player this is my 10th fort, or so, and I'm really happy with my setup, military and defenses. We'll see, as this map was being exported during a rather large siege.
I did use dfhack to reveal the magma pipe and adamantine and to mine veins, so you'll notice that on the maps.
When digging the magma floor I got a bit too greedy and my initial channels weren't enough to flood the whole area before the magma would start to evaporate. Fixing that was my biggest setback, but my military was already in steel by the time and spending long hours in the danger room.
The main defenses are just complete, and consist of a palisaded courtyard with bridges to control the flow of enemies into the fort. Above this is a ring of nine archery towers were my archers should be able to shoot across most of the map with immunity.

You can download the compressed map file:

but you will need the .NET version of
SL's DF Map Compressor
to convert to the .PNG image format.

I'd say Ironhand because I think it's my favourite. I sometimes used Phoebus but these days I stick with ASCII
