Six floodgates, linked to a lever with bauxite mechanisms, are exposed to magma.
They are made of copper, steel, green glass, tower-cap, basalt, and bauxite.
The tower-cap floodgate burns instantly, the basalt one melts shortly after, and the copper one melts last. The others are magma-safe.
Note that doors are superior fluid-control devices to floodgates in all circumstances except when it is necessary to synchronize with bridges. I only used floodgates for this demonstration because someone was claiming that green glass floodgates had never been magma-safe.
