• Δ 15. Apartments
  Dwarves get spacious apartments in exchange for aboveground living. Carved out of the hillside, these are dark/underground and are appropriate shelter if dwarves are ordered inside. Three- and four-story walk-up apartments will have table and chair, coffer and cabinet, plus 1-2 additional pieces of furniture to match the individuals preference or profession. Square apartments are for nobles and are 3 story units - bedroom, dining room, and sitting room. Office will typically be in the office buildings and tomb beneath the church. - martin
• Δ 15. Barn
  Now complete, the interior pens are for breeding pairs. Outside are two cages - for males and females. Behind the barn are two large pens for domestic animals - horses on the left (50 in the cage - chummy) and cows on the right. I'm pretty sure PETA would not be happy...
  
  Upstairs kennels, butcher shop, tannery, and refuse pile for these buildings. Above that, lots of cages. - martin
• 15. Church

  ( 236 to 299 )
  The first building dug out and still serving as storage/housing, the church will ultimately seat over 100 dwarves and allow dwarves to pay their respects to the elements that have permitted them this fine settlement. The artifact green glass hatch cover allows the red glow of magma to shine up. Catacombs are below. - martin

• 15. Farms

  ( 236 to 299 )
  We were fortunate to find 3 sand layers in the center of the town allowing both aboveground and underground crops. Barrel storage is currently on the roof and surrounding buildings but a basement will be added for that.
  
  245: Large basement has been added for barrel and bag storage. - martin

• Δ 15. Keep
  Still training the siege engineer. Ballistas will be mounted right behind the cat firing down the center of the approach road. During siege, fire at will should prove quite effective with this kind of range available. The north entrance will be the primary entrance to limit the amount of dwarf traffic that may get caught up by ambushes - the east road sees a fair bit due to the barn, fishing shack, and practice range.
  
  Upstairs you can see an arrangement of 4 levers which control the 4 floodgates to the central pool.
  
  Below is the armory, with armor on the west side and weapons on the south side and sparring area in the center. Below that are the sleeping quarters and dining room in the very center. - martin
• ¶ 15. Overview
  The thousand foot view.
  
  On the outside a curtain wall with simple moat - just to funnel opponents into the two entrances - north and east. Gatehouses at each entrance.
  
  Inner wall is 3 stories with small tower on south wall. West wall hasn't been completed yet but will get a comparable tower. Central keep covers both entrances and has two portcullises each on the outside and inside, activated by lever. The three weapon traps are the only fixed defense - mostly to splatter snatchers. The kittens act as sentries for ambushes.
  
  The structure in the open field is the barn - all wood. To the south, all buildings are workshops. To the west, all buildings are apartments. The round structure on the right is a storage tower, still being dug out and will be finished out with green glass. The round structure ont he left will be the spire, already carved out of the mountain on the exterior, but not yet begun on the interior. Because this is a no-immigration fortress, there is limited manpower for megaprojects, so they take a while. - martin

  The only dining area currently available with booze above and food one level up. - martin

• Δ 15. Small fountain
  Added two years ago, this small fountain has a masterwork gold statue and offers a nice distraction for the workers in the forge area. - martin
• 15. Spire

  ( 236 to 299 )
  Still a solid mass, the spire was carved out of a natural formation by our gifted miners when they were cutting the cliff face to a sheer wall. The spire is 25 stories tall and will house the grand dining hall on the ground level. - martin

• Δ 15. Storage Silo
  Recently dug out, this large silo will take care of all the bulk storage needs of the fortress - wood, stone, blocks, etc. The top levels are still being worked on and ultimately the silo will be retrofitted as a pure green glass structure. - martin
• Δ 15. Vaults
  Dug into the south mountain face and close to the trade depot, this is the primary high-value storage area. Each vault contains a specific commodity. The 8 vaults closest to the door on the first level are primary trade items - narrow goods, wood arrows and crafts, stone crafts, food items that can not be consumed, etc. The 12 vaults above those on level two are metal bars segregated by type, excluding iron and steel which are kept close to the forges. The back vaults will contain gems and artifacts but haven't been moved in yet. There's 6 levels of mountain above these to expand into. - martin
• 14. Water distribution

  Fed from the nearby brook, the water delivery system will allow wells to spring up all around town. Well segmented with control rooms and floodgates and fully rewalled with diorite, this should be immune to tower cap growth should we get seeds from an underground river (which some believe may be located under the mountain) - martin
