My new fort with Dig Deeper.
Here we've got a magma moat, some weapon traps, and some corridors on the side for my theoretical marksdorfs to shoot from. - Obsidian

I see a barrel sitting by one of the murky pools to the east, not present prior to year 246. Was this fort reclaimed at some point?

The Vault needs to be fully engraved with masterpiece everything. If the time comes that you have to use the Vault, so many dwarves will be unhappy from the death that you'll need to keep their happiness ultra high... I'd reocmmend making the hallways sealable as well, incase a dwarf tantrums, justso you can lock him away where ever he may be.

Heh, I've basically stopped with this fort, but I'll answer the questions.
Quietust: No, never been reclaimed. I believe the barrel you're referring to was dropped by some wagon or another that was slaughtered by orcs. That happens quite a lot.
Static: Yeah, that's probably a good idea. Possibly some kind of waterfall in there too, we all know how much dwarves love their mist. Mind, the vault wasn't 100% complete when I stopped playing this fort.
