Making progress. The bridge is still a bit gnarly and had to get it's retraction removed at the moment (stupid stone in the way). So no progress on the ship itself.
Good news however, it seems I remedied the suicidal pathfinding of last time, and forced the pathing via walls and a more persistent, and tighter priority path. It worked.
I'm adding more security while I can with the walls, and possibly sealing the batcave. I did notice an assload of creatures within the chasm area, which was also the source of the GCS (Giant Cave Swallow). Quite a few of those.
I have a small party of "hunters" to extract the cave of batmen so that I can seal it with walls and traps (for future use), or just vacuum seal it.
Tighter walking paths, some walls, and a bit of persistence paid off. Now my dwarves will no longer walk a mile to get to the other side.
I'll eventualy add a security checkpoint for some wild tree/plant gathering if the farms are under-stocked. However, it'll be dangerous. Obviously, for being a back/side door, security like mad. The same will apply to the southern access with it's own application of a customs checkpoint. - Itnetlolor
