• Δ 53. DOWDING Ravendar
  In past times of particular crisis Dwarves would once stand within this gem dome, pulling useless levers back and forth. Upon sighting an undead raven swarm the Dwarves would begin spamming job cancellations and alert the rest of the Fort as to the impending raven attack. Also to the West is the imposing Brass tower, with the artifact door Velasiv lying atop it. - Last_Time
• Δ 53. Tower Likot
  Tower Likot earned its name through two ways. The first being that it grew to become a tower, the second after Urist Likot Lion L. Thunen walked into the magma forges, crossbows blazing.
  In the early days of the magma forges, things weren't nearly as secure as they are now. And during a particularly nasty fire imp attack only the champion marksdwarf, member of the elite pleated stakes, good ol' Likot was on hand to deal with the incursion. Likot managed to kill the last fire imp by crashing his crossbow through its skull, even as he was mortally wounded by fire. The tower commemorates him by housing his tomb with a mural depicting him living as he died, on fire. - Last_Time
• Δ 51. Brass Palisades
  An extension of what could be considered "inside" the Fortress, the Brass Palisade is the first fortification enemy ground troops have to overcome to breach Silentthunders. Many of the cage traps in the corridor have been recent additions, but the pillars linked to detonate are ancient - so far never used. Many more of these pillars are dotted around the gatehouses watching the magma passes. The idea is that the large cave in dust generated would be able to scatter a host, giving the Dwarves time to kill the stunned troops or their leader - most important whilst fighting Necromancers, or mounted troops.
  Of slight note is that the Dwarves somehow managed to engrave one of the brass walls. They named this engraving 'the hatred of blankets.' - Last_Time
• Δ 51. Tombspire
  The Tombspire is a spire of tombs, sitting atop the grand farms. It contains the Fort's legends and will continue to do so until the tombspire is complete and all the places reserved have been occupied. At several times in its construction it has made me run out of copper, silver and steel. Likely it will continue to do so until it is complete. - Last_Time
• Δ 50. Civilian Hive and the Citadel
  The first structures to arise in Silentthunders that could truly be called Fortresses, the Civilian Hive (the building with the smaller cells up top) housed all the citizens whilst the Citadel housed many of the first stockpiles and military Dwarves/migrants. These two structures are in many ways still the central focus of the Fort, as the HQ with the most levers branches off from here, the grand stockpiles lie beneath here, the workshops are accessed through here, many Dwarves still live here and the stairway to heaven is accessed through the citadel. - Last_Time
• Δ 50. Hospitals and Barracks
  The Fort has a habit of placing Barracks outside of Hospitals, culminating in this. The Hospital has a dining hall within it for viewers to learn of the doctor's skill (as all Dwarves are expected to learn basic medical skills), the Hospital is stocked with everything a doctor could want, and should the patient transform into a night creature/fell undead/berserk madman the military are always on hand to kill them. - Last_Time
• Δ 50. Memorial Broke
  The Memorial Broke holds memorials of all the Fort's Dwarves and its notable enemies, enshrined forever with their own slabs. The Brook, called the Helpful Crypts, runs through the Memorial. Underneath the Memorial Broke lies the Catacombs and the Crypts which hold most of the Fort's fallen Dwarves. - Last_Time
• Δ 50. Quarry Pit
  What started off as a quarry digging for stone and minerals ended with a massive structure linking the magma sea and all three cavern layers with the surface world. Many battles have been fought here, many Dwarves have died. The creatures below often travel up just as violently as corpses and pigs are thrown down into the magma sea below. On the sides of the Quarry lie the Quarry prisons... Things that reside there tend not to live long. Needless to say, Dwarves are never imprisoned in Silentthunders. - Last_Time
• Δ 48. Moose Pit
  This once contained every single corpse, pet and prisoner (who would shortly become a corpse) of the Fort. This gradually escalated until the sheer volume of undead was a threat to the Fort, and they were unleashed into the overworld to be destroyed in battle. Nowadays it contains some moose corpses and titan/forgotten beast corpses. It serves more as a ceremonial and historic building now, though it is still one of the most formidable fortifications in Silentthunders. - Last_Time
• Δ 46. Abandoned Graveyards
  These were amongst the first structures dug in Silentthunders. The dead were buried here and statues and memorials of the fallen placed above them. As a result of the graveyards being in the evil side of the biome, the dead did not rest for long. This eventually became unsustainable and the Dwarves had to clear the graveyards and move the angered corpses to the catacombs, where they would at last attain their rest.
  Memories of darker times still live in those graveyards. They say during certain nights you can still hear the restless undead and the swarms of undead raven that once infested the hallways.
  No Dwarves return to those halls. The majority of the Fort's Dwarves, born after the great siege, will have never even seen of it or heard of it in their lives.
  Old statues and memorials of the fallen are all that remain. - Last_Time
• Δ 46. Colosseum
  Provides an opportunity for Dwarves to enjoy dinner whilst watching the Fort's best soldiers spar, and on occasion, fight. The gem windows are self-supporting as in the Rodemdome. As can be seen in the surrounding expanse of dug out limestone, much efforts to dig up the white stone to continue building the Fort above ground has taken place. To avoid causing any structural loss of integrity, the mined out stone is steadily being replaced with obsidian. - Last_Time
• Δ 46. Necrobacon Factory
  Creatures or corpses are dumped in on the left, drowning/washing ensues, the necromancer chained up raises them into undeath. From there they are either processed in the butcheries or used for other purposes/kept in storage for future use. - Last_Time
• Δ 46. Rutherer domestication project
  Dwarven attempts to domesticate Rutherers has so far yielded many casualties and a carpet of blood, but little else of note. - Last_Time
• Δ 40. Werecivet training and habitation
  The Fort's resident were-civet soldiers are trained and housed in these tunnel complexes; almost certainly immortal and rather jaded, their living conditions have been significantly improved just to show thanks to these poor war machines. When the full moon turns they transform from Dwarves into night creatures, and so much of their furniture is protected by walls lest they destroy them every month. - Last_Time
• Δ 34. Coppermine Gardens
  Technically tetrahedrite mines, the Dwarven efforts to extract silver and copper from the ground left large scars in this layer which were quite hideous. To fix this, the mines were converted into a massive underground garden/tree farm, that yields hundreds of logs every time the waters are drained. It also looks gorgeous. - Last_Time
• Δ 29. Rodemdome
  An experiment into making structures entirely out of self-supporting gem windows, the dome serves as a stylish dining room for the Dwarves; where they can eat lunch whilst gazing at all the river fish swimming around them. It was constructed using a quirk involving walls and the floor they produce 1zlvl above them (and more importantly, that floor going away when deconstructed), making a giant solid gem ball without a single bit of stone needed. - Last_Time
• Δ 25. Arena
  Still messy from the last fight, the arena is a great opportunity for Dwarves to come together and socialize in a post-HFS society. All of the flooding surrounding the arena is artificial, this cavern layer was once dry and barren. It was linked to the Fort's reservoir to fix this. - Last_Time
• Δ 13. Magma Forges
  Drawing the good molten stuff from the land's core itself, the magma forges work day and night processing and working with all the metals in the Fort's stocks. Further north is an obsidian farm and a magma pump stack bringing magma to the surface. The forges are heavily fortified as beyond the walls, terrible things fly. - Last_Time
