Still in the first year. The project continues to expand.
After two tiny migrant waves, we got a real wave of 29 dorfs, who are charging in at the moment of the save, just after the elves took off.
Breaking with my older patterns, I decided to be more generous and try to pattern the bedrooms according to the social arrangements of the newcomers. So, instead of constructing a massive standardized pattern, I looked at the dwarves in terms of relationships and arranged suites per family. As you can see, there were a lot of families and fair number of children. We'll see how long it takes to get the whole thing furnished.
And the outside construction has also begun, with a modest barracks. I'm not really ready for goblins yet...
I've often thought it'd be intelligent to have a furniture pile between the manufacturing and the bedrooms.
This might be the first time I had enough sense to actually implement that idea. Yay open design!
I'm also trying to keep the smelters organized by metal. So far it's all magnetite, though I have struck veins of platinum.
The stoneware hall is nicely organic-looking, since I had to bend it around the metalworks. - Tharis
