Bronzedomains - 150 Late Autumn by RainAtDawn

Map Description:

The second migrant wave arrived: eight adults, no children, a pet lamb and pet puppy, no skills of any note at all. The novice trainer war-trained the adult dogs and started training the boars.

Traded with the dwarven caravan, mostly for cows, cloth and cheese, then used dfhack to overcome the exported wealth bug. Made ropes to tie the dogs down with.

Leatherworker's shop built and first quiver made. Smelter operations started, and first crossbow and bolts forged. First marksdwarf drafted. A few steel bars created and stashed away in case of moods.

Finished the moat, and broached the first cavern to induce cave moss growth, revealing a giant cave spider.

Created wealth: 65286
Exported wealth: 8042

Point of Interest: Eastern Gateway

Entrance to eastern caravan roadway with drawbridge over the moat. Eventually that stair will lead back to the barracks.

Note that for aesthetic reasons there is no moat overhang here, instead the area is cordoned off by fortifications. An additional level of fortifications may be warranted over the drawbridge itself to deter enemies jumping up off the bridge.

A watchbird is pastured behind the fortifications upstairs; eventually a windowed sentry box will be created for it one level up to keep it safe.

Nearby features: moat, wildlife access-way, river management, aqueduct source, roadway. - RainAtDawn

This map is getting interesting, what exactly are you carving out with those two huge pillars?

Still like the beardfaces. That's very creative.
