• Δ 18. Dam Wall
  I wanted to give the Pod a proper dam, so I decided to build a towering wall over the river, with fortified posts at either end to protect the entrances to the Pod. I may also start using the northwest tower as a burial ground as my current burial ground was full by the second year. - Brown Moses
• Δ 17. Exterior Overview
  The large square in the top centre is the top of the Pod. I plan to build upwards once the Pod has been fully engraved.
  To the south there's a detailed stone road leading to the small forest, and a pair of bridges that link the east to the west side. These can be raised to slow down attackers, and with this and the northeast bridge raised there's no way to reach the other side. - Brown Moses
• Δ 16. Level One
  The Trade and Craft floor. This was set up quickly to service the caravans and quickly create some goods while also clearing the first floors stone. This is when I first realised my ramp should have been 7 or 5 spaces wide, so it would line up with the trade depot nicely. Moving items to and fro storage and the trade depots has always been very fast thanks to the staircase running through the entire fort. - Brown Moses

  I'm sure there's nothing in here, certaintly nothing that can fly out, thanks to the shape of the valley the only way into it is down one set of steps I built. - Brown Moses
• Δ 15. Full View At River Level
  This view gives you a good size of the scale of everything on the map. You can see the area I dug out is massive, and I'll probably wait until I'm on my friends quad core PC until I start filling it with water. - Brown Moses
• Δ 15. Lava and Water Pools
  The lava pool was partly drained into the fortress to proved magma for the forges. The water pool was depopulated when I forgot I set a marksdwarfs to be stationed on its edge for a few months. I only remembered when a group of goblin crossbowers ambushed him and shot him to shit. - Brown Moses
• Δ 15. Level Two
  Mainly finished good storage for fast access to the depot, as well as some random workshops randomly placed whenever I needed them. I've just removed alot of mechanic shops as I needed about 800 mechanisms for my floodgates. - Brown Moses
• Δ 14. Dam Floodgates
  These floodgates allow me to control the flooding of the dam, which prevents the river from running dry and my water flow to dry up. If you are draining large amounts of water this is essential, as the river will eventually drop to 3/7 and anything it is supplying with dry up. - Brown Moses
• Δ 14. Level Three
  The farms, flooded from the river, which you'll be able to see evidence of on the earlier years map. Thanks to mud never drying up I only had to flood it once, but god help me if I try to reclaim. Due to a massive surplus of food the farmers all went mining and the farm was used as a giant mechnics workshop for a few years, hence the mess. The top right office contains the levers controlling all the bridges, and bottom left controls the floodgates to the west. - Brown Moses
• Δ 13. Level Four
  Food storage, thanks to have 30 miners and 60 haulers for the past couple of years all the stores are very neat and tidy. Thanks to endless seiges I ended up with so much narrow gear I didn't have to make anything and could still clear out caravans. The new search feature on the trade goods menu makes it very easy to find narrow giant cave spider silk items, which sell for loads. - Brown Moses
• Δ 12. Level Five
  Shops and Food Processing. This number of workshops seems ideal, with food storage directly above it makes cooking, brewing and plant processing super fast. In the south are the butcher shops, tanners, and in the southwest animal and cage storage. Each butcher shop is in a seperate room to stop any passing dwarfs from having bad thoughts. - Brown Moses
• Δ 11. Level Six
  Magma workshops. As deep lava never seems to cool I never have to worry about refreshing it, even if I reclaim. As its disconnected from the lava pit I don't have to worry about anything crawling out the holes and killing my smiths. - Brown Moses
• Δ 10. Level Seven
  Magma Pipes. These to an AGE to fill as the lava pipe was located on the other side of the map. On earlier years you can see the magma pipe with a square section dug out which I used to cave in onto the pipe, sealing it off. This allowed me to safely dig it out and drain away the lava. - Brown Moses
• Δ 9. Level Eight
  Stockpile. Mainly armour, weapons, and ammo, plus a massive stone stockpile I accidently set and forgot about for 9 years. - Brown Moses
• Δ 8. Level Nine
  Dining and Meeting Areas. The dining room doesn't look like much, but it actually has an artifcat seed bag placed in it, making it a legendary dining room. The meeting areas are emptying because of a recent "accident". I also had the kennels there while I trained my army of 50 war dogs, back when I had 220 animals running about. Before the "accident". - Brown Moses
• Δ 7. Dam Cistern
  The Cistern has 3 sets of floodgates, one at the top, one at the middle, and one at the bottom. The bottom set will allow the cistern to rapidly flood the lower level with water pressure, preventing the water flow from drying out. Once the first level is flooded the middle flood gates will still allow pressurised flooding without them becoming submerged. Once the water meets the middle level then all 3 sets of gates can be opened. The gates will need to be closed occasionally to allow the river to refill to prevent any drying out. - Brown Moses
• Δ 7. Level Ten
  Cheaper Quarters. For the poorer dwarfs, but still detailed, because after the shit they've been through they are worth that at least. - Brown Moses
• Δ 6. Level Eleven
  More Cheap Quarters. Slightly nicer then the others, because they are further away from the kitchens, and therefore noise. - Brown Moses
• Δ 5. Level Twelve
  Baron's Quarters. The yellow window is an artifact giving the bedroom legendary status, which keeps the baron happy. Hopefully it's water tight too. - Brown Moses
• Δ 4. Level Thirteen
  Noble Quarters. The unluckiest level in the fortress, I've got through nobles like the British get through tea bags and crumpets. - Brown Moses
• Δ 3. Floor Fourteen
  Barracks and Jail. Also contains the archery range, but if I put that in the first sentence I wouldn't have anything to put here. - Brown Moses
• Δ 2. Flour Fifteen
  Tombs. Had I planned ahead I would have put this two floors up, especially as it would have had a pratical use thanks to the lack of space down here. The coffins filled up faster then the beds did, leading me to run out of space about 2 or 3 years in. - Brown Moses
• Δ 1. Flour Sixteen
  Noble's Tombs. Where the Noble's get to go when they die, until I run out of room at which point I'll create a special device to burn remains. The red lever is connected to the support holding up the entire fortress, so hopefully no-one will accidently lean on it during the funeral. - Brown Moses
• Δ Accident Site
  This is what happens when you "accidently" set meeting zones under the areas you plan to mine out and allow to collapse. Each level was entirely mined out, then everything collapsed at once, so I decided to gain a bit of frame rate by setting those areas as meeting places. - Brown Moses
