Slingoceans - 1062 by Bingbing

Map Description:

Things have not gone as planned. I realized the "gold shaft" was actually the ore used in brass. The road work to get a human caravan was disrupted by Goringish, a tiger. Elves arrived for the first time, and 2 kobold thieves stole some goods. Thankfully, some good stuff has happened as well. The kobold thieves were killed, as was Goringish, and one of the cripples (a farmer) got up for a little. More info about the occurences in the points of interest.

Point of Interest: Beer Supply

During the winter, I used the huge supply of plump helmets to create a large beer storage area. This storage is currently filled with over 100 units of dwarven alcohol. If this works, I might no longer need wells! - Bingbing

Gold gold gold gold... looking good, like the variety on this map and the separate rooms that all come off the main corridor.

What happened to cause you to abandon and reclaim the fortress?

Pretty simple, I ended up running out of food in the first winter. Then I messed up the inital screen the first two reclaims. After, I finally got it right.

You need a big tombsyard in prep for the next seige ;)

Why is there a water channel connected to your prison?

To stop the "freeze upon being set out* glitch. Turn on, then quickly off. Also, the "Weak Farming System" point of intrest has the id 666. Does that mean a demon is hidden in my fort or something?

Submitted by: Markavian - 2007-07-22 to 1064

Bingbing, the weak farming system is infact an evil death trap, the spawn of the too deep demon itself which has manifested itself in the minds of your dwarves, and intends to ravage your fair farmers by flushing them downstream to their doom!.

Best not take it too seriously. Still waiting for map submission 666, some time around August the 29th.

That's... a lot of wagons.

Hmn... Could wood be gotten in massive quantities on a glacial map that way?

Submitted by: Markavian - 2007-09-02 to 1073 Late Spring

Early on yes, but that kind of defeats the point of playing on a glacier map...
