A lot has changed in 3 years, the great (well not that great) marble gate is almost ready, as is the future kings chambers, if I actually manage to get a king that is :).
Also found out that I can't have tower-caps unless I have an underwater lake or river, so next up is a lot of exploratory mining to see if I actually have one. I also do not know whether I have adamantine so that'd be nice to find out too. Both are unfortunately highly unlikely :(.
( 57 Early Spring → onwards )
The King's cross, not even nearly done yet :) The King's Cross features all the rooms a King needs to go about his day. There will be magma inside the innermost circle and a lot more furniture will need to be made. I think I'll also be making rooms for the kings consort and a kitchen just for him. (Damn I hope I'll get a king some day).
The area shown as designated is just something I'm thinking about, around the whole thing more likely than just the topside as it is now. Tell me what you guys think.
The floors are now mostly Black Bronze and Rose Gold with bits of actual Gold thrown in there for the heck of it. The furniture is either gold, glass or platinum/aluminum. (well, the bed is actually an artifact made from some gemstone).
Also worth noting is the ramp system in the middle of the Kingsphere(™), which I used to replace the simple stairs due to me preferring the look :). - Syanide

Yeah, had to learn how to use this site while I was at it :p.
Thanks, I myself prefer looks over efficiency for pretty much everything I do in df.

Hi what tileset and graphic set are you using love the design by the way will be checking on this one.

It's actually Mike Mayday tileset, available at http://mayday.w.staszic.waw.pl/~mayday/df.htm .
There's a couple of problems when I switched to 39c but it works for me. While I wait for Mayday to release a version for 39c at least.

If anyone has any ideas of what to build next (with marble). I'd appreciate them.

Build two 4x6 guard towers either side of the marble gates that are at least as tall as the gates with fairytail spires and crenulations... then create a deep wall betweem them and the gates, and divert the river maybe?
The kings cross is most impressive.

Thank you Markavian for your suggestions, I have begun draining the river to reroute it at a later time and to make room for guard towers. This will make a couple of years go flying past again :).

Nice fort, that entrance is very stylish.

Thanks.
In other news, the fort died to starvation yesterday :(. I have begun constructing another fortress on a different location on the same map so this one shall be frozen for quite some time.

Apart from the starvation, should you come back to this fortress:
I am a big fan of the king's cross. I think the hallways to his rooms are a bit lengthy and the magma down there is cool, but I worry about the magma pressure from the volcano.
Speaking of volcano, statue park? arena?
