Death reigns. After a massive goblin siege, our dwarvenly heroes attempt to rebuild that which was lost. Tamtrums and chaos ensues.
Honestly, it wasn't even that my military was more than capable of dealing with the siege itself. It came down to the fact that I was caught with my pants down in the courtyard. The goblin marksmen squads rounded the corner and had a perfect vantage point upon all the dwarves in the center courtyard. This is evident by the *massive* amount of bolts littering the area. I actually managed to fend off the siege, however, and life continued on for the fortress. Surprisingly, I did not succumb to a tantrum spiral.
My total population went from approximately 182 dwarves, to a total of 26. Over 150 dwarves died. Again, this was all due to the goblin marksmen squads having such a perfect firing range. I must admit however, this is probably the most epic battle I've ever seen in dwarf fortress and I'm glad I'm able to share the aftermath with everyone. Hope you enjoyed it. :) - juice
