Steelfields - 1062 by SA Succession

Map Description:

A picture of elegant dwarven living

Point of Interest: Model of Efficiency

Even in these dark hours, the dwarves of Steelfields show remarkable ingenuity in streamlining their daily lives. Behold! Gold mine, housing, hospital, and funerary, all in one lot.

Given that the above is more or less the progression of daily life in Steelfields, this arrangement should prove quite expedient. - Pebo the Historian

Removed duplicate entry
I checked and reckoned the two maps were identical, so I renamed this one (the original) and deleted the other from the system.

Why do you refer to one of your dwarves as Horse Raper? ...

Very nice. It's been entertaining following the development of this fort, as, like a drugged-up burnout, it has stumbled precariously through the stages of its life.

Even if I'm an unobservant idgit. Sorry about the double-post on the mandate processor. But it's epic enough to warrant saying twice, I guess.

=) No problem with me. I found it very funny. My first thought was you had like a workshop area to make crafts and things... ahaha.

This is part of a succession game over at something awful. One of the users participating in the game is named Horse Raper. During our turn, it's become custom to name a single dwarf after ourselves and build ourselves grand, useless tombs and the like.

Understood ^_^ - who else has played on this map then?

You can view the thread here. It's kind of stagnated lately, though.

I'd make engraving start obscured, all those engravings make your fortress look like a mess.

Lots of bones... was it the dwarves who were massacred?

What version of DF is this? I would like to try a 2D version sometime, but every version I tried has serious lag. I'm wondering what is the best for a 2d project...

@ClsfdKidd, I have a lot of saves with v21.105.21, that was a 2D version...

You can download the compressed map file: SteelFieldsUrbanDecay.fdf-map but you will need the .NET version of SL's DF Map Compressor to convert to the .PNG image format.
