Alas, This map is dead. The new version killed it.
If I tried to do anything like that with magma, I'd flood the world.
I salute you.
I'm going to make this a dwarftown, like Rightnut.
I dread to think how much stone I'll need for the wall.
Oh, they do. They love it.
"You know, for drinking!"
That's what booze is for.
Dangit, That's what I'm going to do. >:|
The glass furnaces are already seperated from the main shaft, because I tried (and failed) to use magma to bypass the aquifer before. I didn't want to risk the magma falling too low for the furnaces, So I blocked it with obsidian and pumped magma into the channels until it was 7/7. Then I pumped a little more and started a large fire that consumed the northern side of the river.
Strangely enough, Fire doesn't travel up dry grass ramps.
To see if a well is dry or active, press q and select it.
Flame, there appear to be floors and such between the well and the water. You'll have to channel those floors out.
That would have been cool. Oh well.
I might just flood the world with magma instead.
They were supported from above, and they walls that support them connect to the main tower, which connects to the ground.
And the walls didn't collapse. It was just a bridge.

Well, All the grass has grown back after being burned.. I'm not sure if I like that.
At least the fire trimmed the Hippo population...
