I asked the dwarven traders to bring me one of every type of gems and the rest has been dug out from my fortress. The river is great yes, I'd definetely recommend to start at a Y section of a river for the awesome defense it provides, as long as the river doesn't freeze in the winter of course.
It wouldn't surprise me if we'd one day be able to dig out old tombs filled with mummified goblins or something as similary awesome. :)
Well the pit's location wasn't in the first design plans so the walls on the two upper shaft levels are constructed and the others are smoothed to make it look better, and of course to remove any chance of getting a grip on them. :)
The [b]i][/i] is an imp from my "domesticated demons" pack. Some (like the pitlords) are a bit on the strong side as noted by Anxiety. Thanks, I didn't know anyone was using them besides me.
