It doesnt collapse because the stairs is holding it together, take out that constructed floor tile
Is it just me or do those channels in the east look like they could someday be used to flood the valley :P
Edit* Didnt notice there was a moat.. haha

Thanks guys. That hole will go to the bottom eventually and be filled with magma! Once I have everything done in this fort Ill collapse it and yes magic dwarf I will definitely record it, Ill also record it when I do the collapse to remove the floors in the hole. I'm sure something entertaining will happen..

Depending on how much water is in there and if it wont refill you can just open a door and let the remaining water spill into the fort and dry up.
What is that lime green ore you have in your stockpiles?
Its brown and reminds me of crap.. therefore not cool. The fort is still really organized though.

Its decent and clean, but like Salmeuk said mudstone ruins it.
Thanks sneakeypete but I have already thought of that, I decided the massive collapsing way is more fun and just seems quicker.
P.S that was two words :)
The save for this file got corrupted right as I was approaching my two year mark. Don't worry I have the seed and stuff for this map so I will gen another world and get to work right away.

It looks like its coming from an aquifer
I tried the collumn thing once it didn't work. You make it work though looks cool.
Screw a monument. Draw a mural! Maybe a axe? It would be perfect for the fort title. For extra sweetness channel out whats not part of the mural and fill that with water.. Then it be like a floating mural and the dwarves meet on that.
